Winter Showcase Parent Pro Tips!
The countdown is on...our annual Winter Showcase is happening December 13, and we can’t wait to cheer on our dancers as they shine on stage! Whether this is your dancer’s first showcase or their tenth, a little preparation can make the day feel smooth, stress-free, and full of magic.
We’ve put together some parent pro tips to help everyone feel confident, organized, and ready for a memorable show day!
Arrive On Time for Call Time
Call times are carefully planned to allow for warm-ups, spacing, and final checks. Arriving a few minutes early helps your dancer settle in calmly and ensures we stay on schedule.
Parent Tip: Set reminders and plan for parking. it’s always better to have a few extra minutes than to feel rushed.
Come in Costume & Stay Organized
Dancers should arrive wearing their first costume. Please make sure all additional costumes, accessories, and tights are packed in the provided labeled garment bag.
Parent Tip: Label EVERYTHING- tights, shoes, hair pieces, water bottles, etc.
Hair & Makeup: Done Before Arrival
To keep our backstage running smoothly, dancers should arrive with performance-ready hair and makeup.
Parent Tip: Bring a small touch-up kit—hairspray, bobby pins, lipstick, and extra tights. Accidents happen, and being prepared keeps everything calm.
Snacks & Hydration
Please pack water and light, non-messy snacks to keep your dancer energized throughout the show.
Parent Tip: Avoid snacks that can stain costumes...think crackers, granola bars, or fruit snacks instead of anything sticky or colored.
Don’t Forget the Essentials!
Before leaving home, double-check you have:
✔️ Tickets
✔️ All tights
✔️ All shoes
✔️ Any required props
✔️ Extra hair supplies
Parent Tip: Do a quick “head-to-toe” checklist while your dancer is dressed-it only takes a moment and prevents most emergency trips back home!
Capture the Memories
We know you’re excited to take photos, and so are we! Please follow the studio’s photo and video guidelines to keep the performance safe and distraction-free- This means no photo or video during the show. ALL participating families will receive full show professional videos.
Parent Tip: Snap some photos before you leave the house..lighting is usually better, and your dancer will feel extra proud seeing how great they look.
Most Importantly: Encourage & Celebrate
Performance days come with lots of emotions-excitement, nerves, joy, and everything in between. A little extra encouragement goes a long way.
Parent Tip: Remind your dancer that the goal is to have fun, do their best, and enjoy sharing their hard work on stage.
Thank you for helping make our Winter Showcase smooth, magical, and full of PBADA sparkle! We can’t wait to celebrate our dancers together.
